Understand Vela
Turn a task in your software into a tool for your automations.
Know where Vela fits into your workflow.
Your path, in three steps.
- 01
Start with one task
Read stock, find a customer or book a slot: a specific task is easier to validate.
- 02
Vela builds the connector
Vela explores the workflow with your access and turns the relevant exchanges into a reusable action.
- 03
Your tools take over
n8n, Make, your app or an AI agent then call that connector with their own inputs.

Overview
Most business software has no way of talking to your other tools. Your booking system, your supplier portal, your internal management tool — a person can use them, but nothing else can. So the work gets done by hand: someone reads a screen and retypes it somewhere else.
Vela removes that person from the loop. You show it, once, how to do something on a site you already use. It watches, learns how the site works underneath, and turns that into something your other tools can call on their own — an automation, a spreadsheet, a website form, or an AI assistant.
The short version
You demonstrate the task once. After that it can be done automatically, thousands of times, without anyone opening a browser.
A concrete example
A salon uses a booking tool with no way to connect it to anything. You want an AI receptionist to answer the phone at night and actually place the booking.
- 1
You show Vela how to book
You sign in to your booking tool inside Vela and make one appointment, the way you always do.
- 2
Vela learns the route
It works out what the site does behind the screen when you click those buttons.
- 3
You get something callable
Your AI receptionist can now place a booking itself. It takes under a second, and no browser is involved.
The four words
Everything in Vela is one of these four things. Learning them now makes the rest of this documentation short.
| Word | What it means |
|---|---|
| Connector | One task on one site. "Read the free slots." "Book an appointment." Each one is separate, and each one can be used on its own. |
| Toolset | A group of connectors handed to an AI assistant, so it can use several of them. |
| Client | A name and a colour you put on a connector. If you manage twenty customers, this is how you tell their connectors apart. |
| Template | The reusable recipe behind a connector — the know-how, without your password or your data. It is what gets shared or reused for another account. |
What Vela is not
Vela works on your own account, on software you already pay for, with your own login. It is not a way to collect other people's data, and it is not built for sites you have no right to use.
Next
Ready to try it: Create your first connector. If you work with an AI assistant, create a toolset; if a connection expires, sign it back in.
A URL, a clear goal, then a first result to verify.
